Welcome to Greenworld Bamboo Sdn. Bhd.
Your one stop solution for us to provide technical consultancy services on bamboo planting, Bamboo Propagation, Establishment of Nurseries, Sustainable Plantation Management & Harvest of Bamboo Products.
Our Mission
Bamboo is widely recognized around the world for its remarkable ability to grow quickly, making it an excellent alternative to timber harvested from forests. Harvesting timber from bamboo plantations can help reduce the need to cut down forests, particularly in tropical countries with rainforests. By planting more bamboo, we can contribute significantly to preserving existing forests around the globe. Our company is dedicated to promoting the establishment of bamboo plantations to governments and bamboo-based industries. The creation of substantial bamboo plantations can provide abundant raw materials for downstream economic activities while simultaneously preserving the environment and existing forests. Additionally, bamboo can serve as a clean-energy fuel replacement for power plants at lower price per ton compared to coal. It will greatly reduce Malaysia dependence on imported coal and also create great economy for the rural villagers.
Our Vision
Our company’s vision is to create a sustainable yet closed product lifecycle that would have minimal environmental impact and alleviate poverty through creation of long term employment. It is our wish that by having more bamboo plantation in Malaysia, the country will have abundant supply of a renewable materials for her development in a true Green Economy sense.
What We Want to Achieve
Quick Establishment
Selective Harvesting
Bamboo for Green Energy
Bamboo plantations can rapidly establish a forest that can grow up to 10 to 20 meters high in less than 24 months. In contrast, timber species can take anywhere from 5 to 20 years to reach the same level of growth. The clumping nature of tropical bamboo species produces a substantial amount of biomass, which has a higher capacity for carbon absorption from the atmosphere.
Remarkably, bamboo harvested at just three years old can be engineered into timber as hard as hardwood species, whereas trees can take up to 50 years to achieve the same density and hardness. Bamboo is an environmentally friendly solution to meet the demand for timber. Selective harvesting from the same clump ensures that bamboo stands last forever, and the jungle remains even with yearly harvesting.
As a signatory to the Paris Accord, Malaysia is taking steps to reduce its carbon footprint and encouraging investments in the green economy. We believe that investing in bamboo plantations is one way to achieve this goal. Not only do these plantations provide a forest cover for carbon absorption, but they can also be harvested sustainably to provide raw materials for timber and fiber, such as paper.
Malaysia currently imports over 35 million tons of coal annually to power 60% of its power plants. These same plants could be powered by bamboo pellets, reducing both coal imports and carbon emissions. This presents a significant business opportunity. Additionally, Malaysia imports 90% of its animal feeds, and the government is encouraging local production of cereals and plants for national food security. Our company is also exploring opportunities in food crops production.
We are currently in the process of acquiring land for bamboo plantation and seeking international funding for this and our other agricultural projects.

OUR STORY
We are in the process of acquiring a 500 acres plot in Perak to develop a bamboo plantation for bioenergy and some shoots production. The harvested bamboo culms will be dried, chipped and send to customers furnace for heating. This customer is burning coal now and wish to switch to renewable energy to cut down on carbon emissions.
We are also talking to interested parties to develop a 5000 hectares plot in Perak for bioenergy. This 5000 hectares bamboo plantation will be producing about 500,000 tons of biomass to replace about the same amount of coal import and burning.
Malaysia is importing about 36 million tons of coal a year for its power generation needs. By replacing coal with bamboo for our energy needs will be the most straightforward solutions for our carbon reduction commitment. And we can grow bamboo very easily in Malaysia.
Two crops have dominated Malaysia economy and history. From 1920s to 70s was rubber estates. From 80s onwards, it was oil palm. Both crops had done tremendously for Malaysia development and rural economy. Rubber estates is at 1 million hectares and oil palm is 5.3 million hectares.
A one million hectares of bamboo will be more than adequate to power Malaysia energy needs. (1 hectare of managed bamboo produce 80 to 100 tons of bamboo chips/pellets. 1 million hectares will produce 80 million to 100 million tons. Malaysia presently is importing 36 million tons of coal for its 66% power generation.)
With the critical shortage on energy worldwide now, we think that Malaysia can move into growing bamboo as an energy crop. We have the land, and we have the weather for large scale bamboo planting. It will provide energy security ( no import) and is renewable and available all the time. It will also reduce carbon emission and put Malaysia at an enviable position in the Green Economy. 100s of thousands of employment and business opportunities will also be created.
Furthermore, we actively engage with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Malaysia to foster sustainable food chain mainly on bamboo shoots production. Collaborating with NGOs allows us to share expertise, exchange ideas, and contribute to community development. By partnering with these organizations, we aim to enhance awareness of bamboo's environmental and economic benefits, as well as sharing of other related information. Looking ahead, we envision substantial future benefits, such as strengthened environmental conservation, increased livelihood opportunities, and the promotion of bamboo as a versatile and eco-friendly resource. This collaborative approach aligns with our commitment to creating a positive impact on a global scale, transcending geographical boundaries for a sustainable future
